When Ocado set out to turn its packaging waste into a circular asset, it faced the challenge of handling large volumes of mixed plastics while meeting hygiene and safety standards. The goal was to ensure that end-of-life materials were recovered responsibly and never sent to landfill.

CTR Group delivered a transparent, audit-ready plastics recovery programme at our Staffordshire facility. Incoming plastics are manually sorted into precise categories. Each category is then shredded and granulated into high-quality flake product, ready for remanufacture back into new plastic items.

In just one week we process 25 tonnes of inbound material and output 25 tonnes of recycled flake. Our approach guarantees zero landfill, full chain-of-custody documentation and measurable ESG benefits. Ocado’s recovered plastics now feed directly into global remanufacturing streams, closing the loop on packaging waste.
